Northwest of Tuscany, between the sea and the mountain , around the stately Lucca walls, has been created a small but prestigious DOC named Colline Lucchesi. Among this land the vine weave in the history by the ancient time. First by the Etruscan, then by the Ligurians and later on by the Romans, who have believed in the cultivation of the vine in Luccas’s land.
The tradition of viticulture has been continued with passion and devotion by men of church and by noble families, up to that, in 1968, the DOC Hills Lucchesi has been recognized for the red wines and in 1985 the DOC Hills Lucchesi for the white wines.
The particular position of the Colline Lucchesi DOC makes this denomination different compared to the other Tuscan quality appellations. It's fresh and ventilated and not too much dry climate gives to the wines a vivacity and an unique complexity that makes these wines the perfect expression of an exceptional terroir
